Beginner Lesson Plan February Part 2
Warm up - Follow the leader/coach in the order of circuit rotation.
- Bear crawls, hopping, crab walks, skipping, moving jumping jacks, walking arm circles, monkey tail kicks, walking lunges, etc.
- Try splits and bridges
Stations - Bridge work
- Bridge on floor - step feet up and down on block
- Tick Tock
- Backbend on knees - use pit blocks to stack
- Bridge on carpet - put feet together on line then try hands together
- Bridge belly taps - tap belly with 1 hand at a time
- HS to bridge
- Backbend on incline
- Bridge hops on trampoline
Circuit - Rolls
- Back roll across block - land feet on floor
- Back roll down incline
- Back straddle roll - finish in standing straddle
- F. roll on line
- Jump full turn, front roll, jump full turn
- F. roll across mat
- 3-5 V-ups
Stations – HS and CW
- HS walk hands around block on ground - feet stay on the block
- HS roll or HS bridge
- HS - hands on rainbow
- HS walk down line
- CW - match feet to the colors
- CW - 1 foot starts on mat
- Coaches' choice
- Seat drop turn before feet touch
Game - Show and tell - Coach asks students to show their favorite skill they did today. Clap and congratulate each student to end class HAPPY! :)
