Kinder Owls August Part 1

Hey guys,

Here is the Lesson plan for August Part 1!

I have attached George's Videos from the tumbling lesson plan. You can follow it and use it for kinder. I will type modifications but you can also modify what is needed. You know your class best.

We also have these new mats to use for Handstands and Bridges and Backwards rolls etc

For Warm up I will attach the video from last set up. We will also add a game.

We will pretend we are training for the Olympics! Have the kids do an exercise of your choice. After they have done it for a few you will yell out a country and a pose for them to do ( can be a silly pose or body position). They will then do it. For example: USA Candlestick. You will want to try and trick them too. So yell out Chicken Superman. Obviously Chicken is not a Country so they would loose that round. No one gets out we all keep playing.

Warm up :

Numbers:

  1. Kip to bridge
  2. Headstand on 12" facing TT (or walking pushups - hands on floor feet on mat.... or visa versa
  3. Various handstands
  4. Medicine ball chart exercises
  5. Seat Drops and Building Swivel Hips
  6. Handstands ( use video for break down) For less experienced students they can jump feet up on mat and then do a donkey kick instead of full handstand.
  7. Coach choice (work to mark off skills

Colors:

Yellow- Walk on hands w/feet on boxes (but not on orange) Move foam board for hands to increase or decrease difficulty

Green - Roll down wedge mat

Purple- Jump stick 90, 180, 270, 360 Use yellow target

Red- Cartwheel / Roundoffs Make sure to break down the skill.

Orange- Standing long jump- can also do this jump backward and sideways.  

Blue- Handstand to tower
